Judge Peeler served two years of active duty in the United States Army. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Murray State University and received his Juris Doctorate from Chase College of Law where he served on the National Moot Court team and was President of the Student Bar Association. He served as an Extern in the office of the United States Attorney, Special Prosecutor's Unit, White Collar Crime Division.
Judge Peeler served 25 years as Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Mason and Deerfield Township. In addition to his service as Prosecutor, Judge Peeler owned the law firm of Peeler, McGary & Zopff Co., LPA. Judge Peeler was Board Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is currently a Judicial Fellow with that organization. Judge Peeler was awarded the key to the City of Mason for his years of distinguished service. Judge Peeler is a Judicial Advisor with the Potter Stewart Inns of Court Organization for Southwest Ohio.
Judge Peeler was recognized by the Behavioral Health Advocacy Coalition of Warren and Clinton Counties for Leadership in Advocacy for Behavioral Health Treatment of Offenders. He was also named Warren County Public Official of the Year in 2014 by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). He received the George J. Gounaris Judicial Recognition Award from the Miami Valley Trial Lawyers honoring him for the highest standards of judicial ethics and intellectual tenacity. In October, 2015, Judge Peeler received the award in Excellence Criminal Justice/Mental Health from NAMI/Southwest Ohio.
