Warren County Children Services supports relatives or other supportive persons to care for children bonded to them whenever they are unable to safety remain in their own homes. Relative and Kinship placements are generally in the best interest of children as they minimize the amount of disruption these children face and allow for kids to be safely cared for by family or those that love them while their parents are working on stabilizing the home environment. If children services has an open case, relative/kin placements can occur through implementation of a safety plan or by children services filing a complaint in Juvenile Court, if necessary. Relative/kin caregivers are screened through a home study process which includes a sight and safety check of the home, criminal backgrounds checks and a search of the state-wide child abuse database.
